IN THE BIBLE,
WE ARE TAUGHT TO PRAY
FOR OUR DAILY BREAD
Matt. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
I
CONFESS TO YOU,
I
AM A BREAD LOVER.
*
I know that some people blame bread
for
a lot of things, undeservedly.
I read recently that most crimes are committed
within 24 hours of having eaten bread.
Most people who fail an exam have eaten bread
on
the day the exam was failed.
It has been found that poor performers at work
are
almost without exception bread eaters.
WELL,
I WANT TO GO ON RECORD.
I
LOVE BREAD.
and I don't believe that any problems I might have
were caused by the consumption of bread.
YOU
MAY NOT BOLDLY PROFESS YOUR LOVE FOR BREAD
AS
I DO, BUT
IF
YOU DIDN'T HAVE ANY BREAD FOR LONG ENOUGH,
OR
SOME SUBSTITUTE (let them eat cake)
YOU
WOULD CRAWL FOR A CRUMB.
You'd
cry for the crust.
May
say you wouldn't, but you would.
You
must have bread,
or
something in its place.
THEN ... THE PLANT THAT GREW (in His instance)
OUT OF DRY GROUND WAS CUT DOWN.
Messiah
the Prince was
...
cut off, but not for himself: ... - Dan. 9:26
THERE WAS A CUTTING,
AND A GRINDING, AND A POUNDING.
John
6:51 Jesus said, "... the bread that
I will give is my flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world."
The
whip cut into his back,
the
thorns were ground into His brow, as it were;
They
pounded him with a reed.
Mark 15:19 ...
they smote him
on the head with a reed, ...
The dough of His flesh
passed under the rolling pin
of the sin of man.
HE WENT THROUGH THE
OVEN OF SUFFERING FOR US.
The
leaven of our sin was placed in & on Him.
The
Bible says that
"... a little leaven leaveneth the
whole lump ..."
1 Cor. 5:6
& Gal. 5:9
&
Friend, He took more than a little,
He
took it all.
2 Cor. 5:21 For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.
1 Cor. 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: ...
He who was unleavened
became leavened, for us,
that we might be unleavened.
So He went through the oven of suffering for us.
BUT PRAISE GOD,
in keeping with our
metaphor of bread,
THERE WAS A RISING,
AND
THE BREAD OF LIFE CAME FORTH
FROM
THAT OVEN OF SUFFERING,
RISEN
AND AVAILABLE.
FOR
ALL TO PARTAKE.
AND WE ARE HERE TODAY
DELIVERING BREAD
OFFERING YOU THAT BREAD
...
THE
BREAD OF LIFE,
THE
LORD JESUS CHRIST,
You
can receive Him today.
Now,
I'm obviously not talking about literal bread.
I'm
talking about what Jesus said,
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
You could partake today.
REMEMBER,
EVEN THE BEST BREAD MUST
BE RECEIVED.
Hearing
about bread won't satisfy.
Watching others eat won't satisfy you.
GOD HAS DESIGNED IT ALL IN A WAY
TO GIVE "... bread to the eater:" Isa 55:10
Are
you an "eater" today?
Then come and partake freely.
