THE GREATEST DELIGHT OF HEAVEN

Revelation 5:9, 10
"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to
take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou
wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and
nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and
priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

IT HAS BEEN SAID,
if you truly want to know a man,
find out what those who live with Him think of him.
Find out what he is like in his home.

It is reported that George Whitefield was once asked
what he thought of a certain man.
He replied that he didn't know;
he had never lived with him.

In our text, we learn what those who live with Jesus,
at His house, think of Him.
Those who know him perfectly, intimately
      and are with Him constantly,
adore Him and praise Him eternally.
                   He is worthy.

You may meet some individuals that
your estimation of them deteriorates
with the passing of time and further exposure.

It is not so with Jesus.

     After ten thousand years,
He will still be without spot or blemish.

CONSIDER THAT the holy angels
     have been with Him for ages;
yet they never tire of praising Him.

     Neither will we.
           His character, His purity
will shine through the eternal ages.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO THINK TOO HIGHLY (or too often)
OF JESUS.

LET US LOOK again at our text

Revelation 5:9, 10
"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to
take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou
wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and
nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and
priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

I.  AS WE GAZE UPON HIM,
WE RECOGNIZE AND SING OF HIS WORTHINESS

    "Thou art worthy"

The question is presented to the universe:
    "Who is worthy?"

          Rev. 5:2
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a
loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book,
and to loose the seals thereof?

        When it comes to worthiness,
        the saints are silent,
There is no pretension of worthiness there
            (nor should there be here).

Even the strongest & holiest of angels
(ever ready to do God's will)
            dare not step forward.
            Only Jesus can step forward.

        Certainly no mortal can step forward;
not even the purest virgin (Mary)
            who ever lived.

    WHEN THE SAINTS IN HEAVEN
            sing this song of worthiness'
            they sing only of Jesus.

There is no homage for anyone else.
There is none else beside Him.

II.  AS WE GAZE UPON HIM, NOT ONLY DO WE RECOGNIZE
     THE WONDER OF HIS WORTHINESS,
     BUT WE ALSO RECOGNIZE
THE MAGNIFICENCE OF OUR MASTER IN OUR REDEMPTION

     our text

Revelation 5:9, 10
"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to
take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou
wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and
nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and
priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

Look at the expense of our redemption (by thy blood).

What a price He paid for us.

What love He has for us.

                Forget the gold,
We will be the most expensive
                     thing in heaven.

                     It is not a stretch
to admit that we were trash
(headed for a throwaway in hell),
But He valued us, and turned us
                     into treasure.

He put a value on us,
                          and thus made us valuable.

He is worthy of our praise.

Look also at the extent of the redemption.
          (every kindred, and tongue, and
           people, and nation).

Let us extend the message of His love to all.

III.  AS WE GAZE UPON HIM (our redeemer; our mediator),
      LET US ALSO CONSIDER
      that He is the
      DONOR OF ALL DIGNITIES

He has made us "kings and priests and we shall
      reign on the earth."

HIS PLAN FOR US, AS FOR ISRAEL,
IS A GOOD PLAN   A PLAN FOR OUR GOOD.

     Jer. 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of
evil, to give you an expected end.

EVERY GOOD THING THAT COMES TO US IN LIFE
AND IN ETERNITY, WE OWE TO HIM.

IV.  AS WE CONSIDER ALL OF THESE THINGS,
IT IS EASY TO SEE WHY
JESUS IS THE MAIN ATTRACTION OF HEAVEN THERE THEN

AND THAT HE OUGHT TO BE THE MAIN ATTRACTION HERE NOW

Heaven will surely be much more interesting
         than this world.

         1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard, neither have entered into
the heart of man, the things which God hath
prepared for them that love him.

YET IN THAT PLACE WHERE EVERYTHING IS AMAZING,
There is nothing as amazing as Jesus.

           Surely it is so now,
Even we only had the eyes of faith to see it.

TRULY, HE IS THE GREATEST DELIGHT OF HEAVEN.
He could be your greatest delight even now.

Why not receive Him now as Savior?
